Mrs. Lula Lewis, 87,
Dies in Kansas City
A former resident of St. Joseph, Mrs. Lula Lewis, 87, died yesterday at a nursing home in Kansas City, where she had lived for the last five years.
Born in Guilford, MO., Mrs. Lewis was the widow of Charles A. Lewis, a retired railroad engineer before his death in 1930. Her son, Charles E. Lewis, Kansas City, is vice-president and treasurer of George K. Baum & Co., investment bankers.
In addition to her son she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nancy Wildman, Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Thomas J. Shepherd, Kansas City, MO.; a grandson and two great-granddaughters.
She was a member of the Wyatt Park Christian Church here and of the Ivanhoe chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
The body is at the Stine & McClure mortuary in Kansas City where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Graveside services will be conducted at Mount Mora Cemetery here at noon Monday. |
