| Brief Biography: FUNERAL NOTICE FROM THE NEWS PRESS: William M. Dykes died Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital after an illness of less than a week. He was born in Parkville, Mo. Feb 24, 1858. He has been a resident of St. Joseph since 1881 and has been employed by Wheeler & Motter Dry Goods Co. almost continuously from that time, having the position of County salesman. He was also travelling salesman having a territory in New Mexico and Arizona. He was a member of a local camp of Modern Woodmen. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, the Rev. C.M. Chilton officiating. Burial will be at Mount Mora Cemetery. |
